Our holistic care service values companionship and social support equally with all our other basic care needs. Social isolation has a profoundly negative impact on our mental and physical well being. The impact of social isolation can be particularly damaging on those with mental health problems including depression, anxiety or dementia. The progression of dementia is generally more aggressive where individuals do not enjoy the normal levels of social interaction associated with living within a family, socialising at work or enjoying a normally active social life.
We provide a range of services to support normal levels of social interaction and maximise individual wellbeing and cognitive function. These broadly fall into the three categories below.
One-to-one companionship visits or outings. Whether you are simply looking for a like-minded and supportive individual for tea and chat in your own home or would like a regular companion to go out walking, shopping, to church or local places of interest with, our friendly, high-performing team of Personal Assistants will provide any support you need.
Day Social Care Our Day Socials provide day care with a difference. Enjoy professional entertainment and a wide range of activities together with good food and good company. The Day Socials are particularly designed to be beneficial to those with dementia and those that would benefit from greater, supported, social interaction. Transport service can be provided on request.
Group Outings We also offer a range of fully supported group outings throughout the year including our popular annual River Cruise and lunch.
“My father attends The Service Tree day social weekly. He loves going on a Tuesday, that evening it is all he talks about. He has attended other services related to dementia but this is the only one that has held his interest, at one stage I thought my father was dreaming a lot of the involvement he talked about and dismissed the fact that he told me he was getting up on stage singing, however Jo confirmed it was all true! The staff have been very welcoming to both my father and I, the team are extremely friendly, always going the extra mile to help with the family’s needs.” Mrs SC, West Bridgford
